Mohair Singlet

Jo Sharp Rare Comfort Kid Mohair, Jo Sharp Rare Comfort Infusion Kid Mohair, Free Jo Sharp pattern

This little singlet has bodice shaping and knitted shoestring straps. Easy to make and light to wear, suitable for a beginner knitter. This pattern is featred in Contemporary Knitting 2.

MEASUREMENTS
To fit bust:
33.5" (35.5", 37.5")

Bodice Circomference (stretch to fit):
28.75 (30.25, 32.25")

YARN
Jo Sharp Rare Comfort Kid Mohair x 25g ball:
Tranquil 609   3 (3,4)

NEEDLES:
1 pair 5.00 mm (USA 8) needles
1 pair 4.00 (USA 6) double pointed needles

TENSION:
17 sts & 25 rows measured over 10 cm (approx 4 in) of St St using USA 8 needles.

FRONT & BACK
(Make 2)
Using USA 8 needles, cast on 64(68, 72) sts. Work 8 rows St st.

SHAPE BODICE (RS): Cont working in St st dec 1 st at each end of this and foll 8th rows, 4 times [54 (58,62) sts] , then inc 1 st at each end of foll 10th rows, 4 times [62 (66,70) sts]. Cont without further shaping until length measures 36 (38, 40) cm, ending on a WS row.

 

SHAPE ARMHOLES (RS): Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 2 sts at beg of foll 4 rows. Work 1 row without shaping, then dec 1 st at beg of next 2 rows [46(50,54) sts]. Work without further shaping until length measures 40(42,44) cm. Cast off

MAKING UP
Using edge to edge st, join side seams.

STRAPS: (make 2) Using 4.00mm dp needles, cast on 4 sts. *K4, do not turn work, slide sts to right end of needle and pull yarn to tighten. Rep from * until length measures approx 30cm (or length required). Cast off. Sew straps to front and back at armhole edge.
